It’s day 7 of Seafood week and what a great week it’s been! If you missed the post on our social media, we’re giving you the chance to win a hamper full of goodies, just for tagging us in your photos of Seafood week!

We have our 3rd and final #SeafoodHero for this year’s Seafood Week in David from Auckley Friery! David spoke about the importance of Seafood Week and here’s what he had to say.

What are you doing to celebrate seafood week?

This is the first time we have participated in seafood week, so we are going to be posting on social media trying to raise awareness of our business and Seafood Week in general.

Why do you think seafood week is so important to the industry?

I think it highlights what a fabulous protein fish actually is. It’s extremely healthy, there are no additives or processing carried out when bought from a fish and chip shop and it’s absolutely the hero of our industry. It’s also the last hunted species we have, and people risk their lives on a daily basis to catch it. It should be celebrated and Seafood Week helps us to do that.

What’s the easiest way to eat the recommended 2 portions of fish a week?

It has to be fish and chips from your local fish shop, cooked in a lovely crisp batter perfectly drained with some golden chips.

What’s your favourite fish to eat?

Hands down, Cod.

Be sure to check out Auckley Friery on social media to see what they’ve been up to this week! Or you could do one better and if you’re close enough, pop in and try there amazing Fish & Chips!
