The National Fish and Chip Awards were held last week and as always the industry waited with baited breath for the announcement of the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year. This year Florigo customers Frankie’s Fish and Chips proudly raised the top trophy along with ‘The Good Catch – Sustainable Seafood Award’.
Further Florigo customers also did exceptionally well this year: Papa’s Barn proved that they work to a consistently high quality when they came third for the second year in the row for Independent Takeaway. Rockfish, who have fried on Florigos since they opened their first outlet 5 years ago, also picked up two awards: Best Multiple Operator and Community Contribution Award.
Since winning the top award Frankies, Britain’s most northerly fish and chip shop based in Shetland, have already been busy flying the flag for the industry and have given various interviews for radio, TV and newspapers so keep an eye out for them!
