We interviewed Pavlina at Ocean Blue in Sheffield about her experience with their new Florigo range that was installed in May 2021.

What made you enter the fish and chip industry?

Oh wow, my family were in the industry for many years. I used to live in London to go to college training to become an accountant, but it wasn’t for me so decided to join my family up North.

I was trained by my sister over 30 years ago and I guess the rest is history.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

I just love cooking. It doesn’t matter if it’s at home or in the shop, I just love it. I especially love seeing the happy faces of satisfied customers when they are enjoying the food we’ve cooked. Many customers have been coming to us for many years and are like a second family to me.

What made you choose a new range?

We were frying off an old British range for years. It was failing and becoming extremely difficult to run. We wanted something that would produce a better quality food, that was more efficient and had no or minimal food and oil waste.

You now have your new range, what made you choose Florigo?

My brother has a Florigo, so we went over to his shop to see it in action and ask him how happy he was with it. He’s that happy he didn’t hesitate to recommend one for us. I didn’t even look anywhere else.

What’s your favourite feature?

What’s not to love. I love the timers – something we didn’t have on the old range. You can set the temperature and timer so you know when to get the food out. The baskets have been amazing to use and have helped speed everything up. The triple filtration system really does keep the oil cleaner which can be seen by the quality of the final product.

How has your business benefitted from having a Florigo?

We have seen an increase in turnover. More customers have come through the door since having the Florigo installed, with nothing but compliments from the quality of food. We have also noticed that we have less food and oil waste, which saves us money in the long run.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience with Florigo?

Florigo have been excellent and very professional from the beginning. Everything has been spot on from speaking to Robert initially, the delivery and the aftercare. You obviously pay for what you get, and I couldn’t be any happier with the range and what it has done for my business.
